Our Physician
Tamara Harper MD
Dr. Harper is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated from Xavier University - University of South Alabama Pediatrics, with a BS in Chemistry. She completed an internship at University of South Alabama Pediatrics and she held a Medical Doctorate residency at USA College of Medicine.
Dr. Harper is a lifelong resident of the coast, and continues her career at The Pediatric Center after five years of service at USA Women's and Children's Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Harper is married to Dr. Oswego Harper.
"Being raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since one year of age, I am elated to have been given the opportunity to practice Pediatrics here at home. I enjoy all aspects of community Pediatrics, especially the continuity and life-long relationships formed by following patients from infancy into adulthood. My areas of interest include Asthma and Sickle Cell Disease."
Dr. Harper is on the medical staff at Garden Park Medical Center, and practices at The Pediatric Center.

Appointments
The Pediatric Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you would like to tour our facility and meet the doctors and staff, give us a call and make an appointment free of charge. You may also request an appointment using our convenient online appointment request form.
Tulane Children's Hospital
We also offer specialized services in Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic surgery, and Nephrology by pediatric physicians from Tulane Children's Hospital. Appointments are necessary. Our pediatricians are supported by a friendly, professional staff that make even the most traumatic circumstances seem effortless.
After Hours Care
We know that accidents and ailments don't always occur during "business hours", so we have physicians on call after hours. The Pediatric Center's staff will be there when you need them most. In the event of an emergency, go directly to your nearest emergency room.
Prescriptions
If you need a prescription refilled for a recurring illness, simply call The Pediatric Center during office hours. Your pediatrician will review your medical information and handle your request in the most convenient manner possible.
Billing & Insurance Information
The Pediatric Center is a provider on most employee health care plans; check your specific plan to be sure. We'll be glad to handle all of your insurance filing. Remember, even if you have insurance, you are still responsible for the payment on your account. Should you have a balance due, cash, personal checks, Visa or MasterCard are all accepted. If necessary, we can arrange a payment plan suitable for your needs. All billing personnel are certified through CPC.
Driving Directions
The Pediatric Center is located off Hwy 49 on Community Rd., approximately one mile North of I-10 and next to Garden Park Hospital in the Bayou Bernard Medical Office Building.
